Short History of Bullskin Trace:Ohio's First Super Highway....

 



Bullskin Trace, borne of the trace of buffalo and other large animals tracking through Ohio to the salt licks in Kentucky, was one of the first super-highways in the United States. The Trace starts at the mouth of Bullskin Creek and the Ohio River in Clermont County (Ohio), and served as a roadway from the Ohio River to the Great Lakes for native americans, early settlers and escaping slaves.  The history along the Ohio River in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and beyond is so intriguing.....If only the hills and trails could talk!

We've been saying it and living it. Now there is proof. Cincinnati has been named the #1 Recreation city in the US. From kayaking the Ohio River, Little Miami or Licking, to mountain biking at East Fork to the multitude of parks in Cincinnati, New Richmond and beyond, the availability of outdoor activities/resources is huge.....Let's keep it rolling!

American Queen RiverBoat in New Richmond on the Ohio

American Queen.

The American Queen Riverboat is scheduled to dock at New Richmond on the Ohio today, 5-7pm. Hopefully the stormy weather will hold out. This little Village knows how to throw a party. We hear they already have a Dixieland Band set for the Park, as well as other festivities. Stop on down....We're going!!

By the way, we stopped down to New Richmond on the Ohio for the July 4 festivities and "WOW." A parade with a 100 or so entries, with several thousand people lining the streets, followed by authentic canon blasts in the Park and lot of LIVE music at the Green Kayak and Front Street restaurants......What a party.......... (We will get some pics to share very soon)
